911 (ambulance, police, fire dept.) as needed. Do not hesitate to use 911, it is
better to be safe than sorry.
- Make all possible effort to protect any
individuals from personal injury.
- Take necessary measures to protect your
property from further damage That is, if involved in an auto accident, turn on your
hazard lights or cover a broken window if at home in a storm.
- Comply with the request of proper authorities
and truthfully answer any questions. Do not speculate, make blunt admissions or take
unnecessary blame.
Gather important information – The information needed for each claim differs
to some extent but recording the Who, What, When and Where is always a good start.
